2011 Announcement
Due to the fact that our entire Ministry and partners continue to be involved in flood recovery efforts locally, we've made the difficult decision not to hold our annual Christmas party in December at Davis College.
Community outreach in the love of Jesus Christ is our mission. This year, we have been led to and are blessed to reach out in a new way. On September 8th when the flood hit, we immediately set-up a Flood Relief Center at First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City.
This project is N.O.A.H. - Now Offering Assistance and Help.
Our Center is up and running Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday each week from 8:00am until 5:00pm. The need is on-going, and...expected to be for some time...
At this time, we're extending an urgent call for help. We receive calls every day at First Pres, from people whose homes were flooded. We're still sending crews out to help. Amazingly...many homes have not yet been emptied out. It's simply too much physical work for 1 or 2 people to do alone. Each day we're reminded that just because we don't see the flood debris on the curb...this does not mean that everyone is cleaned up.
If you have an hour or two, and you'd like to help us help those affected by the flood, we do have an urgent need. Every single hour donated is a blessing, and these homeowners are very grateful.

Our prayer is that all ministries involved in our annual Andrew's Good News Christmas Party will make an attempt to reach out in their own way, to stay the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in the community.
If we can be of assistance to anyone regarding planning, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Many families wil be in need for a long time. Beyond the physical help needed, there are many ways to spread the news of Jesus through our actions.
Thank you, and God Bless. |
